Born and inspired as an arts-based and community-and team building
project,
Us By Numbers inspires participants
in an interactive way to give back to their community while
co-creating what will eventually become one of the largest public arts
projects ever recorded.
Us By Numbers is a huge grass roots public and cultural art endeavor building community, understanding, and awareness throughout the country and world that embodies what we all create by working together. Using digital technology, high-quality and uniquely locally themed paint by numbers canvas murals are created to event specifications. The Us By Numbers canvas is then painted and signed by the local community at public event(s). Completed canvases are owned by the local community and grommeted so they may be hung with pride in library's, schools, churches, businesses, community centers and municipal buildings showing what the community has created by working together. Loaning rights are retained for the completed local canvases so murals from a city, county, state, region, country and eventually the world will be combined into a massive mosaic of what we all can create one brush stroke at a time. The goal for the project in a straight line is 12 miles over the next 5 years.
